Descripción de la asignatura. The last in the series of English Language Teaching courses, it has two main focuses: reviewing, using and/or adapting different type of materials in the classroom and assessing language learning. The first part of the course will focus on reviewing, selecting, and adapting the different types of English language development materials in Colombia from government issued to teacher-made. Students will also be offered the opportunity to create their own materials based on learning outcomes and objectives. The second part of the course will review current concepts, procedures, and issues in language assessment, in general, and then narrow to emphasize effective classroom testing of the language skills and subskills. This subject emphasizes the general principals of English language test construction and administration. Students will have practical experience with adapting preparing, correcting, analyzing, and assessing language tests. 3. Justificación. Both materials and assessment are essential to the teaching process and should be aligned to the learning outcomes and objectives of the course. Therefore, this course has been designed to build basic fundamental knowledge about these areas that will be applied in a practical way in this course. |
