This course focuses on theories, approaches, methods, and specific techniques concerning the teaching of the basic language skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) and the subskills (pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar) of English within the Communicative Language Approach. Students will prepare and conduct mini-teaching projects where they apply their theoretical knowledge to English lessons. They also will observe English language classes. 3. JUSTIFICACIÓN To build communicative competence in a language it is necessary to be able to produce the language, speak and write, but also to understand the language by listening and reading. The subskills of grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation are also important parts of these skills. To help students to build communicative competence, a teacher must learn not only how the language works, but also effective approaches and strategies to teach the language. Therefore, this course is fundamental in building these aspects. |
